Gothamachethiya Buddhist Meditation Center
Gothamachethiya Theravada Buddhist Association, Inc. is actively progressing towards establishing a meditation center in Conroe, Texas, set to commence in July 2024. This initiative underscores our dedication to expanding the propagation of Dhamma, seeking support from the USA community to materialize this meditation center.
The envisioned center in Conroe seeks to secure a suitable house with distinct spaces—one for resident monks and another dedicated to lay individuals seeking a tranquil environment for meditation. The hall will feature a beautiful Buddha statue, providing a sacred space for offerings and homage, fostering a serene atmosphere for spiritual practices.
Integral to our vision is the implementation of a weekly children’s program, essentially a Sunday school, where we warmly welcome children from North Houston neighborhoods such as The Woodlands and Conroe. This program aims to impart the profound teachings of the Dhamma and introduce young individuals to the practice of meditation. Our objective is to create a nurturing environment for both local residents and visitors, fostering spiritual growth and wisdom. By establishing this meditation center in Conroe, Texas, in alignment with Theravada Buddhist principles, we aim to serve as a sanctuary of peace and insight for the broader community.
