Parents or guardians must agree to the following terms to enroll their child in our Kandy English Dhamma School:

Curriculum: The teachings are rooted in Theravāda Buddhism and based on the Pali Canon, following the principles of the Sri Lankan Forest monastic tradition.

Meditation: Meditation guidance is based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (Satara Satipaṭṭhāna), and all students will be introduced to these practices.

Student Eligibility: This program is specially designed for Sri Lankan Buddhist children studying in international schools. However, children from other backgrounds are welcome if parents or guardians agree to this policy.

Attendance: Parents or guardians must ensure regular attendance. As spaces are limited, consistently poor attendance may result in the child’s place being offered to another student.

Student Conduct: Parents or guardians are responsible for their child’s behaviour. Students are expected to act respectfully and not disturb others or damage property. In cases of misconduct, the organization reserves the right to advise, take corrective action, and, if necessary, discontinue the child’s participation.

Dress Code: Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that their child adheres to the dress code. White attire is mandatory for both boys and girls, with clothing that properly covers the shoulders and knees. Sri Lankan national dress for boys and lama saree for girls is recommended, though not compulsory.

Contribution: While the Dhamma is offered freely in good faith, a minimum contribution may be required to sustain the school and cover practical expenses such as rent and operational costs. The expected amount will be communicated at enrolment. Continued participation is subject to fulfilling this responsibility, and the organization reserves the right to allocate the place to another student if this is not met.

Parental Agreement: By enrolling your child, you acknowledge and consent to the school’s teachings, structure, and guidelines outlined above.
